1. A night-time picnic in the park
A great way to enjoy a summer evening! If you’re handy in the kitchen, make up a few different kinds of sandwiches on different kinds of bread, toss together a salad, and bake up some of your favorite treats to share. If you’re not the world’s best cook, pick up ready-made subs and salads from the nearby deli. Don’t forget a comfy blanket to sit on! The cooler night air is a great excuse to get cuddly and close!
2. Museums
Most have discounted, and even free nights for wandering the exhibits. Stop by the gift shop and pick out a silly souvenir!
3. Go out for Desserts
Sharing a plate or two of a yummy dessert is a delicious indulgence!
4. Take a hike!
Pack some fresh berries, crusty bread, cheese and a bottle of wine in your backpack and surprise your partner with these treats when it’s time to take a rest.
5. Catch a flick
Find the local revue theatre or find out when the tickets are discounted at the nearby cinema and split a big bag of popcorn.
6. Make a splash
In the warm weather, let loose and have fun splashing around at the local spray pad! Don’t forget the sunscreen!
7. Hit the beach
Stop by the dollar store & pick up some water & sand toys and see if you can have more fun than the kids playing in the waves and creating sand castles!
8. Take a walking tour
Check out the local hiking goods stores as they often run tours of local paths you may not even know about.
9. Play!
Go bowling, play miniature golf, ride go-carts or play laser tag.
13. Have a campfire
Borrow a friend’s fire pit if you don’t have one of your own. Make up a thermos of hot chocolate & bring the fixings for s’mores and see how many constellations you can name.
14. Have a movie marathon
Stop by the movie rental store & pick up your favorite trilogy or a few films with your favorite actor or actress. Swing by the grocery store for microwave popcorn, popcorn seasoning and pop and you’re set for the night!
15. Paddle a boat
Canoes, kayaks, rowboats and paddle-boats are all often available for rental at low prices.
16. Visit your local winery
Sample some local vintages for only a few dollars.
17. Take a drive
Pack some sandwiches or snacks and your camera and take a scenic drive, being sure to stop at a lookout and snap pictures of each other as well as the scenery.
18. Random Adventure
Go for a drive and have your partner randomly give you directions and see where you end up! (just don’t get lost!)
19. Check out art exhibit openings
There’s often wine and cheese at local gallery exhibits openings and it’s interesting to check out the local talent
20. Cook for your partner
